Part of my practice is the ongoing return to collections of things that I’ve gathered over the years. While not quite archives, they are attempts at archiving places, memories and emphemera through the arrangement of items that signify each other. Much like the speculative taxonomy making its appearance in Jorges Luis Borges’ Emporium of Benevolent Knowledge, these collections recall elements of each other and are not meant as attempts at ordering items into strict or rigid forms of knowledge but rather an effort to actualize their potential through their shared characteristics. Some items act as recurring characters in my work
